I am so excited to be able to blog about my most favorite things: Dining out and experiencing new restaurants in St. Louis. Growing up in an Italian family, food was always the topic of conversation in our house and life revolved around it! Nothing can be better than sharing a meal with friends and family engaged in lively conversation and making lasting memories.
My husband and I love finding new places that have their own unique character with signature dishes on the menu. We definitely have our old favorites but we are always up for a new culinary experience. We recently tried out a local gem called "Pan d Olive" which is tucked in a neighborhood. It has an outdoor patio and the inside decor is warm , inviting and lively. The staff is friendly and attentive.
The food has a Mediterranean flair and the menu offers a variety of choices. Warm bread and olive oil for dipping kept us satisfied while we decided what to order. We tried the spinach salad with candied walnuts, cranberries, Gorgonzola and a pomegranate vinaigrette. It was outstanding! For our dinner entrees we ordered the scallop special and shrimp scampi. Both of our meals were excellent, had a ton of flavor, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The portions were generous and the pricing was appropriate. We are definitely going to return and order the Lamb Shank that everyone was raving about.
This restaurant is also known for its great HAPPY HOUR. If you want to experience a local, casual restaurant that is consistently good you should visit Pan d'Olive. You will be pleasantly surprised!
Stay tuned for further restaurant reviews and recipes.
