What an adventure Arizona was! There is nothing that I love more than spending my days exploring and my nights relaxing in beautiful scenery and magical destinations. I spent a weekend in March rejuvenating in Tucson, Arizona with dear friends, Susanna and Crest. We visited the stunning Ritz Carlton at Dove Mountain, in Marana. I must say, the architecture and decor were amazing. (Just look at that ceiling treatment along with the handmade chandelier!) Tiny bits of crystal in suspended animation, floating through the hand wrought copper fixture. The beauty took my breath away!
I had a wonderful time! Let me share a bit of my trip and shower you with little love bombs of inspiration!

Celebrating with Nature Enjoying the beauty of mother nature is essential for me. after spending time in Arizona's unique habitat, I feel blessed and grateful. During my morning walks with Susanna, meandering the bluffs of Dove Mountain, we stumbled upon Indian Petroglyphs. I had to capture the rare beauty of this early expression of art and human connection. (See photo below) I experience nature as both the finite and the infinite, the microcosm and the macrocosm. I dissect the repeating rhythms and shapes of nature and experience a kaleidoscope of design possibilities. I love bringing the energy and cadence of outdoors in. |
Decorating with Succulents While enjoying the unexpected luxury of Arizona Desert Habitat, I stumbled upon the most precious succulents, during a visit to a local cactus nursery. These tiny, pudgy leafed greenies add a breath of Spring to any tablescape. I lovingly carried these fresh babies home on the plane and transplanted them into a large goblet,a table guest, for a casual dinner soiree. I love incorporating nature with its gentle repetition of shapes and textures in my design work. We live in the natural world, the majesty of divine creation is our birthright, a constantly changing template inspiring our passions. Shape and form may be rooted in math or geometry yet the vastness of an open sky sets my heart singing! | |
Coffee’s Language
Nothing can be accomplished or created without a memorable cup of coffee. I never considered my coffee love language or what my perfect cup of joe would smell or taste like until I was in Arizona recently. I visited a fabulous boutique, coffee shop; Savaya Coffee Market, where they roast their own beans. Our Barista, Justin, shared his passion for coffee and it's unique language with Susanna and I that morning. Intoxicated by the heavenly aroma of freshly roasted beans, I became entirely fascinated by the rich and descriptive language true connoisseurs speak. I purchased Justin's favorite, a deep and moody bean with a surprising chocolatey heart called; Mexico. We made it into cold brew trying Susanna's new decanter from Crate and Barrel. This low tech decanter is on my love bomb, must have list. Well priced, and makes the best cold brew every time. Perfection!
